Big Cypress National Preserve
http://www.nps.gov/bicy
The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.
Big Cypress National Preserve is a diverse landscape, where one can see cypress and mangroves, alligators, and panther tracks all in one day! Just like the diversity of the land, the National Park Service manages for a diversity of activities within the national preserve that national parks typically do not allow. Volunteers at the preserve can do everything from give a campfire talk to help maintain swamp buggies. They give directions to visitors in our visitor centers, help monitor and maintain trails, remove invasive plants, and so much more.
